Access Guide

Beyond the Glass does not operate from a visitor centre or its own public facility. Our experiences start in public places — city streets, quays and trailheads — and the terrain depends on the activity.

If you or someone in your group has access needs, the best first step is to talk to us before booking. Contact James Foley at info@beyondtheglass.ie or +353 86 385 0398. We aim to reply within 2–3 working days and will give you an honest picture of what a specific activity involves.

• Tours start in Cork City, at the St Patrick's Quay area — a public street location.
• The meeting area is a generally level, wide public footpath, but it can be busy and sits beside roads and cycle lanes.
• Routes use a mix of cycle lanes, shared or greenway paths and, depending on the tour, some public-road sections.
• Standard and electric bikes are available, and staff can assist with equipment where practical.
• Accessible public toilets are available along or near parts of the route, but these are third-party facilities and their opening hours and access cannot be guaranteed.

• Trailheads are reached by car, often along narrow country roads with limited services, and car parks may be uneven.
• Routes can include stiles and gates. Open mountain often has no paths, with rough, steep or wet ground underfoot.
• These activities are generally of limited accessibility for people with significant mobility restrictions.
• Rather than assuming, please contact us beforehand to discuss the specific route or course you are interested in.

• These take place on public streets and footpaths, with road crossings, kerbs, crowds and uneven city surfaces possible.
• Start and finish points, and some practical elements, can be adjusted where reasonable depending on the group and the activity.

City activities can be busy and noisy. Mountain locations are generally quieter, but weather and terrain are unpredictable. Tell us about your needs in advance and we will help you plan around them.

Staff can assist with communication and equipment where practical. Beyond the Glass does not provide its own Changing Places facility, and we cannot promise adaptive equipment unless it has been confirmed in advance — please ask before booking.

In an emergency call 112 or 999 and give your precise location. During an organised activity, your guide's emergency procedures apply.
